We are excited to announce a meetup hosted by Oracle with focus on Java 25 release!
Please register here to secure your spot.

Agenda:

17:30 Doors open, light food and drinks

18:00 Talk: New features in Java 25, presented from the factory floor by Antón Seoane Ampudia, Paul Hübner, Joel Sikström and David Simms (JVM Engineering, Oracle, Stockholm)

An overview of new features in the recent Java 25 release. A long term support (LTS) release, containing 18 JDK enhancement proposals (JEPs), including 6 experiment or preview features. This talk will be given by a team of JVM engineers whom work right here in Stockholm, right from the "factory floor" so to speak. We'll have some time for a question and answer session at the end, if you want to know how we work, and perhaps what's coming...

19:00 Talk: Just-in-Time Compilation in the JVM by Roberto Castañeda Lozano (Oracle)

Unlike traditional ahead-of-time (AOT) compilers, just-in-time (JIT) compilers operate at runtime. Compiling at runtime means we can take advantage of runtime information to decide both what and how we compile, but also requires fast compilation because the compiler competes with the program itself for resources. This talk introduces JIT compilation and its various trade-offs in the context of the JVM.

20:00 For those who wants to keep going, follow us to a pub nearby for a last beer.

Looking forward to seeing you!
